Wastewater Treatment Plants VHL ®
Small VHL4 type treatment plants are biological wastewater treatment plants designed for facilities up to 4 population equivalents. The quality of the effluent meets hygienic and water management requirements. The plants are intended for wastewater treatment from smaller facilities such as family houses, recreational facilities, workshops, offices, and production spaces. Discharge of treated water from WWTP VHL COMPLET® is allowed by law only into watercourses or storm sewers. If infiltration into groundwater is required, we recommend choosing from the six-chamber WWTP range VH Premium®.
The design of the treatment plant allows for quick and easy installation. For the smallest residential buildings, these types of WWTP can be installed even in very limited spaces. The compact solution maximally facilitates setup and operation. Treatment efficiency reaches up to 92% – 98%.
How does the treatment plant work?
The WWTP consists of primary, oxic, and separation zones. In the primary zone, mechanical impurities and part of nitrogen pollution are removed. This zone contains the aeration system, which supplies air to the WWTP. In the oxic zone, organic pollution is removed. In the separation zone, treated water is separated from sludge. The treated water flows out of the WWTP, and sludge is recirculated back into the process.
All systems in the WWTP are controlled by valves on the air distributor. The air source is a blower with minimized energy consumption. The blower runs on timed cycles and is usually located outside the WWTP.
Wastewater treatment plants operate on a mechanical-biological principle and serve to treat domestic wastewater from all sources of organic pollution (kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, etc.). They are designed in accordance with European standards (EN 12566 – 3). They feature high durability and long service life. Operation of the WWTP is simple and reliable. They work even with slightly irregular inflow of wastewater and during winter. The superior quality of treated water meets hygienic and water management requirements. Treated water can be discharged into watercourses or storm sewers. Excess sludge can be used for composting and fertilizing ornamental greenery.
